Working Against Time (2021) compares the story of the 8th century landscape within the Welsh border to the modern 21st century landscape, to discover whether both terrains are still intertwined. The work consists of three elements: temporary sculptural interventions from the story of Offa, areas that have suffered human impact and landscapes that have been left to run wild. Using found materials, Edwards constructed text installations from the Battle of Maldron to illustrate the current cutting down of the trees in the forest. She dismantles her installations allowing her landscape art to leave a minimal impact on the natural environment. Her photographs furnish the evidence that these installations existed within The Offa’s Dyke Path, preserving them into the future, marking this time within the landscape.
